ONE OF THE HARDEST ROLES OF THE INTERNET MARKETER IS MANAGING THE EXPECTATIONS OF THE CLIENT.
EACH AND EVERY CLIENT WANTS TO BE NUMBER 1 IN GOOGLE BUT THE HARSH REALITY IS THAT DEPENDING ON THE CLIENT'S INDUSTRY OR TARGET MARKET THIS GOAL MAY NOT FIT THEIR CLIENT'S BUDGET.
JUST BUILDING A WEBSITE DOES NOT GUARANTEE WEBSITE TRAFFIC OR A FANTASTIC RANKING IN GOOGLE. YOU NEED TO SET YOURSELF A BUDGET FOR INTERNET MARKETING AND MEASURE THE RESULTS
|
SO WHAT DO I GET FOR MY DOLLARS?
Like any other form of marketing you get what you pay for, and in the case of Internet Marketing you get a set amount of hours spent on marketing your website directly related to your dollar spend.
If you have a budget of $100 a month then you can expect that your Internet Marketer is going to spend about 1-2 hours on marketing your website per month. Depending on your target market and the keywords that define your target market that may just be enough to get you a good ranking.
You can gauge this for yourself. How many people in your industry have websites? If no-one has a website then your Internet Marketing could be close to zero dollars as long as your website is built well.

OK ... SO MY INDUSTRY IS COMPETITIVE ON THE WEB
Once you have worked this out you need to work out how much you are willing to spend on also ranking well in search engines and communicating with your Internet Marketer your expectations.
It is all about the amount of work required to meet your expectations. Will you need someone putting in 20 hours a month on your website to meet your goal of being on page one of Google? Then you can expect to pay around $1300 a month.
Take a look at our simple Internet Marketing Calculator to help you understand what you can realistically expect to spend on Internet Marketing
